Rachel Coalition uniquely combines the resources and commitment of affiliated organizations, social services and its partners of nine northern New Jersey organizations to assist domestic violence victims and their children with a wide array of services such as:

• 24-hour hotline
• Emergency suburban Safe House (with kosher provisions)
• Individual and Group Counseling
• Transitional housing for victims who need additional time to get back on their feet while they transition to a more permanent home situation
• Community Education and Outreach
• Access to pro bono legal support
• Batterers’ Intervention Program

RACHEL COALITION VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Court Advocate Training Program: an unique opportunity for individuals who will be trained to assist domestic violence victims as they await their restraining order hearings in Essex County Family Court.  All volunteers must complete a 40 hour training course (no prior experience necessary). Next training will begin in April 2010. 

Cut It Out: individuals will be trained to educate local salon professionals to recognize the dynamics and warning signs of domestic violence. All volunteers must complete a 2 hour training session (no prior experience necessary).
